“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.” – Lewis Carroll

The time HAS come. The time to consider coalescing around our presumed Nominee but we must do so with a level of caution – AGAIN. We are yet again in a position that no Conservative wants to be in. That of being an anti-Lib vote rather than an enthusiastic Republican vote.

As Mitt Romney assumes his place as the Party’s man, we Conservatives must give him a bit of advice that I hope he heeds. If he is elected, he must remember us. If he strays too far to the left, in 4-years the anti-Lib vote will not be there. We must remind him that we are not obligated to vote for him. We aren’t obligated to vote at all. We can stay home in 2016 and watch him lose and vote by not voting.

One of my instructors – yeah, I actually have a few Conservative College Profs – is fearful of 4 more years of the Emperor. Somehow I can’t share that level of negativity. The only consolation that we have at this point is that Obama has eroded his own base. That is going to cost him the election.

My predictions…

Romney picks a Conservative VP
Romney wins in November by 3-5 percentage points
Obama tries to ram through as much destructive policy as possible before he’s booted from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
The Obama’s pull a Clinton and steal the flatware. – (Note from Mrs. Gribbit: Probably the draperies too.)

After losing his bid for the combined Congressional district to Mary Kapture, Dennis “the Menace” is reportedly considering running for Congress in the state of Washington. Great. The man who bankrupted Cleveland and nearly put the city into default, got himself elected to Congress by the morons in Cuyahoga County – gluttons for bankruptcy, loses his only chance to keep his seat. So does he take forced retirement gracefully? Not Denny. Oh no… He pulls a Labron James and relocates to a state more favorable.

Let’s face it, the American Northwest is teeming with uber-lefties and Denny would be right at home in that aspect. But what Washington is also now famous for are election laws just asking for Denny to take advantage.

A candidate for Congressional office doesn’t need to establish residency prior to filing for office. The day he/she files, they can rent a house anywhere in the state – see also not necessarily in the district from which he/she is seeking office, file for candidacy and run. What kind of junior high school setup is that?!?

Andrew Breitbart cut his teeth in the blogosphere working with Matt Drudge and Arianna Huffington (before she went batshit crazy and turned libtard) before branching out and forming Big Hollywood. And now he’s gone.

Andrew broke stories and pursued others when the MSM didn’t even think there was anything there. Stories like the Anthony Weiner scandal would have escaped public notice if not for Breitbart. Joining Hanna Giles and James O’Keefe, Andrew became instrumental in the collapse of ACORN by exposing the corruption and illegal political activities of that organization. We would never had known of the “advice” that ACORN operatives were giving to those looking to bilk the system on the taxpayers’ dime if not for Breitbart, Giles, and O’Keefe. And for these and countless other times he exposed liberalism for what it is he will be sadly missed.

Rest In Peace brother.

In all of the twenty debates the GOP candidates have participated in this election cycle, Ron Paul has never once taken Mitt Romney to task on a single issue. Why? The answer can only be one thing. He’s shilling for Romney.

Allow me to explain…

Paul’s base is pseudo-liberatarian with most being college aged voters who see a couple of Paul’s key talking points as attractive – namely legalization of drugs and recalling all US troops home. His actual share of the GOP total vote is somewhere around 5% meaning he knew going into the election cycle that he could not win. His Conservative credentials are rubbish and his perceived adherence to the Constitution non-existent.

In a 4-man race for the nomination, Paul’s 5% of the total GOP vote adds up to real numbers for Romney as Santorum and Gingrich shed potentials voters to Paul.

The evidence is there and all you need to do is look at it.

Just my 1/50th of a dollar.

I’ve been relatively quiet the past month or so and for good reasons which are not open for discussion here. However, there are a few things that I need to vent about today.

First -

PaulBots. We’ve seen their kind before campers. Remember old H. Ross P-ROT and his “I’ve got $4B. You ain’t got nutthin and you never will” bs? That’s Ron Paul. Granted, Paul isn’t so crude. But the fact of the matter is those who “back” Paul are doing so for some of the most moronic reasons. They’ll tell you it’s his staunch adherence to the Constitution which is bullshit. Still other it’s a matter of their agreeing with his isolationism. And yet others are attracted to his position of legalization of illicit drugs. But this is the truth. Some people just have to go against the grain. Paul is someone who attracts those who like to shock others.

If every single one of his supporters would put aside their misplaced adoration for the turd for 10 minutes and look at this guy’s positions with a rational mind, he would lose all of his support. Like libtards, PaulBots are one-trick pony supporters. A PaulBot only likes Paul for one reason without looking at the candidate as a whole.

Second -

Sammuel L. Jackson. I mean really?!? Identity politics at its worst. Jackson said that he only voted for Obamaramadingdong because he’s black. That would be like me saying I only voted against him for the same reason (not true by the way). Obama’s policies didn’t mean anything to Jackson yet he cast the vote and he plans on doing it again. This is a repeat offender against the Constitution and an enemy of the nation.

Third –

The GOP Primaries – Can we all just forget all this crap about calling on candidates and their supporters to drop out? In relation to the population as a whole, very few people have had their say thus far. Forget traditional statistics. Let us have our say.

And as for talk about a brokered convention – I doubt it. Prior to the actual convention there will be a presumed nominee. Personally I hope it’s Rick but whoever that nominee is (with exception of Paul) I will be casting a vote for in November. If anything, an anti-Obama vote.

For the record, if this nation is stupid enough to nominate Ron Paul (as unlikely as that is) I will stay home.

Lastly -

Tim Tebow. “Just Say Yes Tim!”

Whether you like Tebow or not, whether you are a fan or not, a young lady serving our nation has asked him to accompany her to the Military Ball in Shreveport, LA in April. This event is a multi-service event involving all branches. Sr. Airman Jamie Walden has asked the Broncos QB to be her date. Her motivation is to get Tim to see others who like him are dedicated to serving others. So Tim – you gotta do it man! If nothing else, she’s not hard on the eyes at all.

Everyone, and I really mean EVERYONE, badgered Mitt Romney into releasing his tax information and today those records were released. Not surprisingly to anyone who considers themselves Republican or Conservative, Romney’s charitable contributions totaled approximately 15% of his massive income. That’s a LOT of dough campers. In comparison, Obama contributes approximately 1% of his income to charity and that great champion of the poor – Joe Biden – contributed a total of $369. Really? That tightwad only gave $369 to charity?!?

For all the bitching Biden does about Republicans not caring for the less fortunate, he gave a total of $369. That isn’t even enough to pay the rent for 1 family. What a humanitarian!

However – you must keep in mind the differences between the Republican/Conservative and Democrat/Socialist mindsets in dealing with poverty.

Republicans and Conservatives believe that you fight poverty first by creating opportunity for people to help themselves. By creating a business friendly environment jobs are created as well. No one can make a successful enterprise of any size without the help of others. Whether those others are business partners or employees, EVERYONE needs help making a success. For those who need help getting back on their feet, private charity sponsored by private citizens are better able to fill the gaps by stretching a contributed dollar further than the government could ever dream of stretching a dollar stolen through taxation. For those who truly need long-term assistance or life long assistance due to permanent injury or illness, government has a limited place by supporting these unfortunate people with our tax dollars. We all share the burden of supporting those who truly cannot support themselves.

The Democrat/Socialist concept is to force everyone to give up an arbitrary amount of income to the government who then decides where best to send the money. Often times political allies and insiders profit while the working stiff faces the possibility of losing his job because his company is being taxed out of existence.

Socialism is shared misery. There is no prosperity in socialism or its cousin communism. The phrase spreading the wealth actually translates into spreading the misery. If everyone is equally poor, the left may finally be satisfied.

Before I end my opinions on this matter, let me remind you of what charity is. The term charity originates from the Greek “Agape” or “Love”. Charity means love. How can one “love” if that “love” is being forced? The short answer is that you can’t. Charity can only be beneficial for anyone – giver or receiver – if it is freely given. Those who receive the benefits of charity freely given are more appreciative of what they receive knowing someone else sacrificed their personal treasure for them.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Ronald MacDonald House in Cincinnati, Ohio for a short time when our daughter was born. Every day, volunteers from the community prepare meals for those who are consumed by the health of their child or children. These people don’t have to do what they are doing. They do it because they care and that means even more to these parents than they could EVER truly realize. As a parent who has benefited from this generosity I can feel safe in saying THANK YOU to all of you who volunteer at your local Ronald MacDonald House. And for all of you who volunteer elsewhere, thank you too. Someone would want you to know that. Your “Love/Agape/Charity” is truly appreciated. The love that you give is freely given and is a true gift. So thank you.

Newt Gingrich prevailed in the South Carolina Primary by garnering 40% of the votes in a 4-man race. This has the net effect of being a game changer for the GOP Nomination. Romney’s presumptions have been dashed and the 4-man race – in reality a 3-man race because Paul is just a freakin nutcase – where each of the front runners all have one race. What will happen in Florida? Will the Midwest states actually have a decision to make in March? Or could the nomination be in doubt all the way up to the convention in August? Time will only tell.

Gingrich’s win in South Carolina damages Romney the most and breathes new life into both the Gingrich and Santorum campaigns. Paul as I stated above is a headcase who is only in this race to cause trouble. He and his PaulBots are an annoyance and nothing more. He has absolutely no shot at winning the nomination and if by some act of national stupidity he were to, Obama would win his second term because I don’t even think I’d be able to hold my nose tight enough to cast an anti-Obama vote for Paul.

Saturday’s big loser? Romney of course. He and his supporters all thought he had the nomination all sewn up. Silly RINOS, Mitt’s cockiness is his undoing.

Note: Gingrich’s vote percentage has been changed in this piece. The original vote totals were originally reported and those numbers have been revised down.

As of Wednesday of this week, Texas Governor Rick Perry has bowed out the race for the GOP Nomination for President. A natural endorsement for the ONLY Conservative candidate in the race – Rick Santorum – didn’t materialize. Perry instead is backing former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. This twist of events has helped catapult Newt into the driver’s seat in South Carolina.

<-------------------------- oo ------------------------->

In other campaign news, Rick Santorum is vowing to stay in the race even after South Carolina. Emboldened by the re-calculated results of Iowa, Rick remains the ONLY Conservative candidate in the field. And as such Thursday Santorum picked up the endorsement of Dr. James Dobson and his organization Focus on the Family rounding out what seems to be a sweep of Evangelical endorsements for Rick.

<------------------------- oo --------------------------->

Newt Gingrich is under fire directed at him from the liberal media giant ABC News who reportedly has been wooing Newt’s ex-wife to do an interview about the former Speaker for TWO YEARS! They are undoubtedly paying the former Mrs. Newt for the exclusive interview which was submarined by The Drudge Report earlier in the week.

CNN correspondent John King made an attempt to capitalize on the leaked ABC News exclusive by asking Newt about the most salacious of the topics the former Mrs. Gingrich told ABC. This prompted the former Speaker to turn the question on King and the liberal media which resulted in a standing ovation of Gingrich. The encounter combined with Perry’s exit has pushed Newt’s numbers above Romney’s.

King did not come out of this encounter very well. Fellow CNN correspondent Howard Kurtz chastised King publicly about the exchange with Gingrich.

“Newt Gingrich probably won the debate in those opening moments,” Kurtz said. “And I must say that I thought it was a misstep for John King, who is a fair and seasoned and balanced reporter, to make that the very first question of the debate.”

“Everything that happened after that, even when Mitt Romney stumbled about his tax return, was indeed an afterthought,” he added.

Read more:

Nice going King! Bravo! And please keep eating your own CNN. Your political biases were evident even before Fox came to town.

Potential South Carolina Impacts…

As of this writing, Iowa belongs to Santorum and New Hampshire to Romeny. Should South Carolina go to Gingrich, it’s a new ball game campers. Stay tuned as South Carolina is headed to the polls today.

John Huntsman has announced that he is ending his quest for the Republican Presidential Nomination and he is throwing his support behind Romney. Big surprise there. Huntsman’s daddy owns a cancer treatment center in Utah. Romney is a Mormon. The junior Huntsman is so moderate the lines between he and Emperor Barry-O or severely blurred so it would make sense that he’d support the most liberal candidate remaining.

His 5 remaining voters in South Carolina are now wondering whether they should cast the symbolic vote – although their vote always would have been symbolic – or follow their candidate in supporting the Massachusetts liberal. What a quandary they must be in.

Right now if the general election were to be held today, we would have a Massachusetts Liberal vs an Illinois Socialist. Not much of a choice if you ask me. But at least Romney has a heart. Obama… not so much.

This non-choice is why I continue to support Rick Santorum.

Rick is consistently Conservative. He has a plan to attract manufacturing. He is consistently pro-life and practices what he preaches on this front. He has actually captured the evangelical endorsement which is something that I feared he would be denied based upon ecumenical biases. But our nation’s social Conservatives realize who walks the walk and not just talks the talk.

Rick is a clear departure from Obama. He doesn’t represent a blurred line. Don’t vote for Obama Lite. Vote for a complete change in direction and fulfill Obama’s promise to bring about change. Change from the Euro-socialist model which has been leading this nation down the path toward ruin for decades.
